PRINCO's technical group was the first to successfully implement TiN film technology in Taiwan. This thin-film coating technique, the core competence of the company, has been applied to many applications including mechanical tools and decorative ornaments.

 

The thin-film coating results in a durable, hard surface that is both wear-resistance and less subject to friction, which prolongs the life of the item it is applied to. In addition, the process produces a shiny gold-like appearance that enhances the aesthetic appeal and value of the tool or ornament.

 

PRINCO thin-film technology covers TiN, TiC, CrN, TiCN, TiAlN, IPG coating and colors other than gold, and can be applied to various items, including:

• Cutting Tools: hubs, pinions, cutters, end-mills, taps, drills.

• Forming Tools: punches, cold-forge tools, pressed parts.

• Dies: forming and PM dies, plastic molds.

• Guages: thread and block guages.

• Ornamental Items: watch cases and watchbands, frames for eyeglasses, belt buckles, rings, tiles, faucets, etc.

 

In the 90's PRINCO was able to capitalize on its thin-film coating expertise and expand its product line by entering the growing optical storage market. As the first Laser Disc and CD-R manufacturer in Taiwan, PRINCO rapidly built up its quality reputation and became one of the best optical media suppliers. To maintain its competitive advantage in the optical storage market and to demonstrate the technical prowess of its young and talent R & D team, PRINCO began the development of new data storage media including Magneto Optical disc and DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM.

 

To ensure its technical leadership position and maintain its high quality standards PRINCO had its own Mastering Division to supply all the stampers that are required for disc production. PRINCO also developed its own production system to meet the highest quality demands of its customers. The company now produces Laser Disc, Magneto Optical disc and Compact Disc Recordable, Compact Disc ReWritable, Mini Disc Recordable.

 

PRINCO realizes that to maintain its competitive advantage in thin-film technology it must continue to aggressively pursue new applications and markets.
